Living in a high humidity area means: mold and mildew everywhere! Is one of the most annoying things that can invade your closet and its horrible odor will get deeply into the fabric, making you smell like dirt! Another horrible thing is that mold can impregnate into your skin causing severe rashes. Bleah! One way or another you have to get rid of the mold inside your house, and then use the below method to get rid of it from your clothes.
I found some useful strategies in getting rid of mold out of fabrics using only natural ingredients that I’m pretty sure you already have it in your closet.

You need:

– 2 cups of vinegar

How to get rid of mold and mildew from clothes

  • Well, it’s quite easy and working because I use it for years! Since I moved to London, I’m not dealing only with bad weather…mold is an issue, too!
  • So, fill your washing machine with the molded clothes, but be careful to sort them by colors, and add 1 cup of vinegar over the molded clothes.
  • Pour another vinegar cup into the laundry softener compartment and start a hot water washing cycle. Don’t forget to add laundry detergent because there’s no need to add laundry softener. Vinegar will do its job both as a mold remover and fabric softener.
  • When the washing machine is over, remove the clothes, and let them dry outside (if it’s not raining)!
